Self-compassion and repetitive thinking in relation to depressive mood and fear of the future

Abstract The coronavirus pandemic has had a high impact on mental health. Also, semiprofessional football players are strongly affected by the disease 2019 (COVID-19) because training during lockdown phase been forbidden. It was primary goal of this study to investigate if those athletes suffer from depressive mood and fear future. Furthermore, question asked whether psychological variables self-compassion repetitive thinking related this. A total 55 completed demographic questionnaire with questions future, rumination-, worry- scale. results show an association between negative scale as well Whereas predicted self-compassion, future only indirectly mediating effects thinking. in football, interventions might be useful tool difficult times.
